Purchased in 1986 NEW at Tiffin Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Tiffin Ohio This Car is almost FLAWLESS - have alot of info on the car Runs & Drives as Good as it Looks - 17917 original miles My understanding is there have been 2 owners - 197 Convertibles made in 1986 - this is ONE OF EIGHT with no Ground Effects! 340 coupes 80 Red Convertibles 8 with no Ground effects so this is ONE OF EIGHT ________________ 245 Convertibles made for model year 1986, not 197. MOST had no ground effects. The "Sport Appearance Package" didn't become available until February of 1986, meaning that no 2-Seat Roadster could have left Livonia Michigan prior to March 1 WITH the ground effects on it. There are far, far, far more without, than with! There were 367 coupes made in total for all 3 years, not 340. If we are talking of 1986, then 162 Coupes made. 81 ascMcLaren Red Convertibles were made for 1986, not 80.
