Based on HP alone the cobra may win out but in the handling category I am not so sure. The looks of the Saleen are certainly nice. For performance from a new car standpoint I bought a little Subaru. Nice all wheel drive for the winter and with $3,000 in upgrades I am running 13.2's without beating on it. Now the new Ford GT has a real nice appeal for me. That may be in the cards for the future.

Sandy, in my opinion they are buying the name and the "look". Probably not that far from the reason people bought ASC/McLaren Coupes.
At least in the case of the ASC's there was potentially a performance advantage over the top Mustang or Capri. With the Saleen (and Roush) base cars the advantage goes to the Cobra.
