You also know that a Hood Blanket will keep that paintjob from fading the hood out some more . seriously though, I would think it to be a good starting point or daily driver myself... But I got enough of a project of my own and I wouldn't trade it for anything. (Now if someone was to throw enough money at me, I would go and by that White 85 I looked at here in Vegas yesterday.)

'Ya know, I'll tell you something about that car. It's alot of ascMcLaren for the price. You're not looking for a 100pt concours correct spicmen, right? Well, you need a new steering wheel RIM, a new (or used good condition dash pad and a set of used rims, and your good to go with a very respectible McLaren! Okay, time & money permitting you can throw on a correct shift know and whatever. I don't think the chrome bezel for the P/W control is gonna detract from a daily (or weekend) driver. It's got its spoiler, (WITH finishing CLIPS)! and Floor Mats, but the floor mats are not gonna stay, since you're gonna sell 'em to me...RIGHT?? Yup, thought so. Engine bay looks okay, too. Not been molested, everything looks okay there. I'd say go for it. It's a better than decent example, considering it's 18 years old!! Where you gonna find better?? (NO, it's NOT 4-Sale :) ) . > > He's got a tentative deal setup but just wants to make sure there > isn't anything crazy to be scared about: > > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO1.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO2.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO3.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO4.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO5.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO6.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO7.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO8.JPG > http://www.ascmclarencoupe.com/misc/85TexasCoupe/PHOTO9.JPG > > Sandy is probably has the best eye to pick out the defects and > determine if the car is worth the money. > > I saw the following: > Missing: > Radar Detector > Shifter may have been changed, can't quite tell, > leather wrapped knob may have been lost. > Front and rear taillight covers missing (look > for evidence of repair) > Missing Wheels > > Other problems: > Cowl is broken. > Trim is painted black, not grey (owner says its all original). > Paint looks to maybe be a repaint (owner says its all original). > Passenger door has silver power window bezel (should be black). > Door has been replaced or fiddle with. > > Good Points: > Upholstery is correct grey on grey. > Steering Wheel > FLOOR MATS!!! > Motor *LOOKS* stock!
