Black out window gasket?

hello all im getting my car back from the painter
monday after school and when i took off all the trim i
pulled out the black out windows. around it was this
papery stuff kinda like a gasket but it didnt seal
anything just suported the black out window so it
wouldent crack. it like slides on to the edge of the
black out window and i guess it just makes a seat for
it. it goes all the way around except for the edge
that fases the door

what is this part im talking about HELP PLEASE!!! and
where can i get one or something like it

also i went to the auto parts store picked up some
tape made by 3M its called molding tape super sticky
stuff but pricy as hell $7 for 5 feet (one side skirt)
