Sandy,

Whoever you take it to have it serviced, whether it's your dealership or
someone else, have them put a soft cloth or towel on top of the steering
column BEFORE they pull the cluster out to get to the back of the
speedometer to disconnect the cable.

I had my instrument cluster out last spring to clean & polish up the lexan
and replace a couple of light bulbs and found out after it was too late that
the bottom edge of the cluster is pretty sharp and it will scratch up the
top of the steering column pretty badly without something there as a barrier
to protect it.
