missing badge

I own a 87 McLaren Mustang that I purchased new off the showroom
floor and I have noticed that some McLarens have a badge behind the
passenger door that did not come on my car. I don't remember what it
said but I'm wondering if it should be there. Any info on this would
be appreciated. Steve
