Hey guys,
big dilemma...I purchased my 88 mclaren in Nov.
The pull down motor is gone... i called the previous owner, and he
never had it. he is the son of the original owner. The other son
lives in Florida, as did the original owner, who's passed away. my
last idea would be to call the body shop in Fla. that painted the car
(i know, I know)... but I find it highly unlikely that they would
still have apull-down motor just lying around since '97, but it's
worth a shot-
So, my question is... where can I find a pull-down motor??!!??!! i'm
desperate, especially with summer around the corner... I know mclaren
used a modified version of the trunk pull-down motor from Cadillac,
which I pulled from a junkyard, but it would definately need some
modifications and fabrications that I'm not altogether sure I could
do...
i spoke to hank @ mclaren and he informed me they're no longer
manufacturing new units, only refurbishing onwers old ones....
Unfortunately an option I don't have...
SO, if ANYONE can help me, I would be SOOOO appreciative...
