That's what I thought too.
Sandy had described them as "NASA-type" hood scoops so assumed he was referring to the teardrop shaped NACA ducts that are commonly miss-labled as NASA ducts.
If the picture of the car in the poster that Mike just bought has the proper '84 style air-ducts in the hood then it appears to me that the air-ducts in question are rectangular shaped and were inserted into the hood in place of the factory Capri "vents" or "grilles" This would make more sense to me now because if the other photo that Mike had posted of the direct front end had these rectangle air-ducts in it, then I can kind of see how they could be there.
For those who know, would this be a correct description?
"The '84 Coupe hood "scoops" or "air-ducts" are RECTANGULAR in shape and are inserted into the hood in place of the two factory Capri's hood "grills" or "vents".
