I'm just starting to work on the top pull down for my '87. It spinds
but the part that pulls the screw down is gone. I may have to look at
my '89 so I can build the part....

Your top issue:I usually try process of elimination (if you're handy).
Get some test leads with 12 volts to see if the motor is working
(fused test leads, of course). Use a ($5.00 from Harbor Freight)
digital voltmeter to see where the power stops on the way from the
switch to the interlock switch to the motor.
