Okay, men (and Lady) I went to my Coupe today for the weekly start-up
& 15 minute run. While sitting in him (he's MALE) I got out the
Alpine Car Audio Fm/Am Product line booklet that came with the car.
Alpine Electronics 1945 Gramercy Place in Torrance, Calif 90501 Tele
# 1-800-APLINE-1 with print date of 8/'85. They made at that time
many stereos!! There are 16 various in it. Concentrating on Am Fm
Stereo ETR with Cassette there are 14. The other 2 - well one of
them is Cassette AND C.D. Player, the other is Am Fm Stereo & just
C.D. (No Cassette).
On many of them the features are so similiar, one has to
wonder.....WHY offer so many. Regarding 7272, which is the one
ascMcLaren put in:-
It's the lowest level example of a single knob unit WITH Dolby.

Now, that said, there's also a 7172 (lesser) model that does not have
the "Selectable Fader" nor the "Lite-Touch" buttons, nor the Pre-
Out/Pre-in.
Then there is a 7171 model. It has the features of the 7172 - but
UNlike the 7172, it is not CD compatible.
Then we have the 7273. It's a step UP from the 7272 and has several
add'l. features:-
CD Compatability / Dolby B-C Noise Reduction SystemS / Programmable
Music Sensor / Full Logic Cassette Mechanism
GZ Transport / Auto Metal Tape Repeat / Tape Pause Feature /
