Just remember to always keep a complete BACK UP on your own computer. Bargain web sites and hosting providers are great UNTIL they disappear because their business model wasn't profitable.
And check out your terms of service to see what kind of 'bandwidth' they are going to provide you for that money... because some of them have pitiful bandwidth allocations AND you are hit with an 'overage charge' for any bandwidth you consume in a month that is over that amount. Bandwidth cost the hosting providers ( as nothing in life is free ) and if they find your web site is a large consumer of bandwidth they will either try to raise your rate, or make you pay for the overage... or they will simply find some lame excuse to kick you off their service.
I have a number of web sites running on four web servers and I consume about 200 gigabytes of bandwidth per month. Those 'econo' host providers would welcome me on to their servers UNTIL they figured out how much traffic was flowing through my web sites and than they would find a fake reason to kick me off or increase my monthly charge. This holds PARTICULARLY TRUE for those host services that proclaim 'unlimited bandwidth'. It is sort of the web hosting company's equivalent to a bait and switch... they bait you on to their service, let you get comfortable there and then try to knock you up when they find out your consumption is high. They would prefer to have 1000 slow and unvisited web sites ( all paying a monthly fee ) than to have one web site that could consume the same amount of bandwidth as those 1000 slow customers.
Nuff said... just thought I would share that sage of wisdom. But most importantly keep a complete and current backup of your web site on your personal computer....

I own four web servers and I gave up on the 'commercial' hosting providers because you simply couldn't trust them to be around for any longer then it took to :
a) find out that they weren't making any money...
b) find out that the work of providing the service wasn't worth the effort

Whoohoo! 600MB of space for $17.40 a YEAR!
I had 100MB limit on my old web hoster and was up to 98.2MB by last
week.
Funny thing is I was paying $20/yr for 100MB and now $17.40/yr for
600MB!
