Sandy,
Since I've been a relatively new member here for a few months, I've read many of your posts. One thing I see all the time in them is how bad the drivers are over there, how bad the roads are, how many accidents there are, blah, blah........ If it is that bad, why do you live there? I've only been to Jersey once back in '84 or '85 for a week, thats it. So I can't give an opinion.
I get irritated at all the same stuff you do though, people gabbing on their cell phone, shaving, make-up installation.........I understand. I'd love to see them make it harder to get a license, its a joke anymore......But we can't do that........Heavens no, you'd have the ACLU breathing down your back saying that your discriminating against whoever couldn't pass the tougher test.
Winter storage - always heard "fill'r up", so thats what I normally do, it ain't much fun filling up a 100 gal. tank in a boat.......at these prices.

1988 ASC McLaren #688
Well, Sandy lives in a section of NJ where people are all on top of each other. He really needs to get out of Bloomfield and either move west or south in NJ. On Sunday, we broke out the Cruiser COnvertible and went down to Hopewell VIneyards for a little wine festival they were holding. We cut through some great farmland and wooded residential areas, which are still quite in abundance in NJ. Best thing is that there is a growing backlash against development in these areas, so they'll be there for at least the next generation.
Came back through Princeton, which was filled with college kids milling about, and returned on Route 27, which is very nice on a Sunday afternoon.
Sandy, you just gotta leave Bergan and Union counties behind.
Now for the McLaren content. I got another set of blue sunvisors to try in my quest to find a set that doesn't fall in my face at every bump. I've replaced the tie rods and every bushing in the front end except the control arms, now I just need an alignment. And if I can find a good rim restorer in the area, I'll get the wheels finished just right. ANy recommendations?

Idouble checked just now, on 2 lists. It was the 9th Capri in VIN sequence made & shipped to asc. Once landed, it was the first one that they converted. Yes, it IS confusing as each car really has 2 #s.
Example:
VINS:
615762 615763 615764 615765 615766 615767 615768 all arrive on the same day and are parked outdoors. ascMcLaren employees then go out and grab car # 615767 to convet first. So, now, is THAT car the 1st.....or the 6th ?? ??

You can read here from the EPA about the changes in gas. I learned about this first from someone who dynos cars. Was told you would get different readings from winter gas. Check out this site below.Sandy wrote:........ and that would be because______?_____.ASCMCLRN wrote:During the winter months they change the octane of the gasoline purposely.
