Gauging Interest - Repro ASC Wheel Center Emblems

Hi All-

I am in process of having reproduction ASC wheel center emblems made for a couple of sets of my wheels. I ordered a small run of 4 dozen if any ASC owners on this site were interested. These will directly overlay onto your exsisting center caps. Will fit both OZ & ARE centers.

I am having two different color runs made. They will all be @ 1-5/8" in diameter by @ 1/8" thick, ASC McLaren will be centered and in Popsicle Orange and will have both a Royal Blue and a Gloss Black background. They will be encapsulated in clear urethane with a Heavy Duty 3M Automotive adhesive backing.

I am also having @ 2 dozen ASC McLaren overlay stickers made on a clear backing that goes on the 1/4 glass.

Expected delivery date of all items are @ 10-15 days (June 15th). The shop that is doing the work is Excellent with Superior Quality (he has several SWEET T-Birds & does all of his own overlay/emblems etc). He also makes top notch Sign/Show Boards. Expected cost for 4 center emblems will be $40-50 and the 1/4 glass stickers should be @ $5-7 each.

Yes, they will be exactly like those and in both colors shown, except the Black ones will have ASC McLaren in Orange.

I can see by the immediate response to this thread, that these will be very popular are going to go quick. To all that respond, they are in-process and will be ready @ 6-15-07. I will ship any cap emblems / window decals that you order from me FREE of charge.

Great idea beats the heck out of buying 4 center caps with the very easy to wear centers! Tech question: are the inserts shipped flat or are the sent domed i know it might be difficult for a novice to adhere these to asc's domed cap's with out creases on install maybe heating them up would help?

See if you can alter the black ones to have the ascMcLaren is SILVER ! That was the correct way. ascMcLaren never made them with orange ON black. The black center caps went onto black coupes, which had silver decals, logos, striping, or black converts that had beige interior and black or beige tops withblack/silver caps, or black converts with black tops & red interior, or black Verts with grey interior & black tops.

Hi Sandy-
I was expecting your post My friend told me that using both metallic silver & gold lettering under the urethane substrate causes minor bubbling due to a reaction with the urethane leaving a less than perfect result. I believe I will have a 2nd order made up that will be gold & silver on a black background, but will be silk-screened prior to urethaned. I will speak to him again and post lead times as well.
These overlays will be very slightly domed, but will be flexible enough to allow simple installation. I will be sending prep/install instructions with all orders.

JIm, they are very nice, especially since they have a slight dome to them.
I would buy them, but cars that don't leave garages don't need them

Regarding the 1984-1986 Capri Coupes, I have all the parts in my house to actually build one. All i'd need is the doner Capri.

Hi All-
I just returned from Don's shop. I modified my order for the repro wheel center emblems.
I inquired to the fitment as well. There will not be an issue with contours as the overlays' edges are radiused and are flexible to completely adhere to the slightly concave surface of the caps. Recommend slightly warming the overlay by sitting in the sun or lightly heating w/ a blow dryer prior to install.
The Proofs will be ready for inspection this Monday, they will then be gelled which has a 5 day cure.

Color Combos that will be offered are:

Dark Blue w/ Orange Lettering
Gloss Black w/ Silver Lettering
Gloss Black w/ Gold Lettering
Gloss Black w/ Orange Lettering
5" x 5/8" Orange ASC McLaren on Clear 1/4 Window Decals

I will accept initial orders for these items on Monday June 11th, 2007. As previously stated, anyone placing initial orders, I will ship Free of Charge.

Hi & Thanks for the color input. Your words are like the blessing of the "ASC POPE" , I really like the Black w/ Orange lettering as it is hardly discernable from the Dark Navy and since there is no Navy anywhere on my Eurocoupe it will "just look right".
