BRAIN DEAD PEOPLE BEHIND THE WHEEL

Post by lightning95sc »

Had an accident on my motorcycle this evening.

I'm sore as heck, by the grace of God, I'm not seriously hurt, but my bike is toast.

I was going down my street, just running to the gas station 5 blocks away.
At the end of my block(5 houses) is the intersection, open for me, yield for cross traffic. As I go thru the intersection, theres a truck coming at about 50(remember,residential street). I grabbed the brakes and layed the bike over hoping to give the truck room to swerve around. The driver panicked, locked the brakes up and clipped my front wheel, then swerved into a tree.

Turns out it was three young girls, the oldest 18(the driver)and she has no license or insurance. They're ok, unhurt, but the truck is worse than my bike.

They say the Lord watches over babies and fools......I wonder which catagory I fell into today!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear everybody is ok.

You know they say most accidents happen within 5 miles of home.

On the lighter side would you belive the Speedo has only 372 miles more then the OEM in my red car. What a perfect match :D it will be going in this weekend.

Glad to hear that you are alright. I had an scare yesterday when i was on my zx12. I was heading eastbound on 96 when 3 young girls closed in on my back wheel. I looked back to let her know that she was too close, so she backed off a little. As i was changing lanes to the left...here she comes again and almost smashes me between her car and the car that I was passing( she was riding in my lane with me). I slowed down and shook my head as she passed. again ...I am glad to hear that a fellow rider is ok.

Thanks, everybody. I came out OK. Broken ankle, bumps and bruises. I'll be off work at least 6 weeks. Been pulling triple duty for over a year and had been saying I wanted a break......be careful what you ask for

Glad the cluster worked out, Mark. We've gotta hook up at more events.

Ken, I feel your pain.....literally  We need to meet up and ride, UH wait, I gotta get a new bike first :D I've got a dilemma now, I have an Aprilia RSV, ok maybe it just an "R" now, but I don't know what to get next. Aprilia dealers and service are few and far between now. Don't want a crotch rocket, but not ready for a full on cruiser, either. Need either a Dualsport or a standard. Got any suggestions?
