Okay. I watched Car Czar on National Geographic last night. The restorer/subject bought a rare color code '69 Z/28 w/o driveline a drive line for $18k--out of a field. It was a mess.
He sunk in over $100,000 and sold it at some rinky-dink auction for $65k.
My thought is convince him to restore one of these hurt ASC Coupes and buy it from him for half his investment.
Who's all in favor??
Really. You have to watch this show. It's exactly why even a seasoned pro should just buy the car done or only restore for personal satisfaction, not the hope of profit.
I saw the one where he re-did the ampha car bought it for 15k then said he had approx 85k in it? He ran it at Kruse auction and it did in mid 50's he did not sell it but i do kinda question the 70k monies spent to resoto it seemed a bit stout but gotta had it to him if he did he paid his employees well. Better not let any of my employees watch that show when they are working and tlcing on cars at my dealership!

If he'd quoted me your sale price, I did have my checkbook at the Shelby show....
As I told him, had it been an '85 in that shape, I would've bit at his asking price since that was my first ASC & I was a bit more attached.
In truth, when that car was stolen in May of '86, I looked high and low for an '86 in your color scheme and ended up with charcoal when it couldn't be found.

Glad it made its way to Texas. Hippy was good to deal with. I love the car.

Wish I had. There was one I did find with a stamped Ford sunroof (rare!) but it was gone quickly for top dollar.
