True, but there were a combined total of 550 asc McLaren built in 1985. I am sure Sandy has the exact count. I have seen several different counts of the total production for 1985 ranging from 550 to 554.

Has it ever been definitely clarified whether the first 85 convertible to leave ASC was number 1 or number 51 (in a numbering continuation from the 50 made in 84)?

Sandy, I took no offense at your answer.
I just meant that it left no room for doubt, and I always appreciate clarity in an answer.
I mean, it simply doesn't get any clearer than: YES/NO.

Since my 85 was an early one numbered 67, I have wondered if it was the 17th off the line at ASC using continuous numbering from the 50 made for 84 or actually the 67th 85 model.
(My mom described chemo as: "feeling dead on the inside, while life feebly attempts to continue on the outside").

Sick with worry? No tulips! You didn't have to tell me that. If you weren't you wouldn't be normal. And you'd will all your cars to me.

My little stroke, back in '02 scared the crap out of me. Got me to go to the Dr. every 90 days ever since. No lasting effects, but I'm damn lucky it wasn't worse. Took a while for the numbness on the right side of my face to go away, but it did. Today, my blood, urine, stool are great. And I thank God that the wake-up call wasn't worse. My Mother had 1 in her life and it put her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. My Grandmother died from hers!

If you want to avoid Cancer and other bad sickness:

Don't do Pot
Don't Smoke Cigarettes (Cigars - once in a whihe, do not inhale.
Watch fatty foods (I am a ice cream junky)
and
MOST IMPORTANT....

have a colonoscopy at age 45 and every 3 years, thereafter.

Sandy do not do that, because Sandy was chicken tulips terrified of
invasive procedeures !!!!

When I finally had it done, it was nt bad, at all.....but I waited too long
and the cancer )colon cancer) had allready begun.

My speech for today.

To get rid of this, I would gladly give away (FREE) all of my cars !!
*(Well, maybe not the Cadillac, as it was my Mom's.

Tried weed 3 times in my life. Didn't see where it was worth any of my time.

Quit smoking in June 1964.

Trim the fat of meats.

Go to the Dr. every 3 months. Stool check every year and colonoscopy every 3-4 years.

So far, so good. Can hardly wait till I have to have my hip replaced or my knee, maybe both.

Sandy is my 'Hero' for his refusal to give up!
