Just something I would like to share with 'ya all

Post by Sandy »

Today I and Karen celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary.
Like the old foggies we be, we hung around the house most of the day. We did go to the local laundra-Mat and wash our huge "comforter(s) that will not fit into a normal washing machine. We bought one & other an anniversary card and we went out for dinner to a really nice and very good Mexican restauant. I had Chilli-con-carni & my bride of 28 years had some kinda Mexican Chicken dish with yellow rice and black beans.
Our son is in NYC studying for the Law boards, in the law library.
Tuesday, it's back to miserable chemo, ensuring that the following 5 days that I will be dog-sick. WOOF, with a :puke:
In 1981, selling Dodge cars/trucks - on a Thursday (my day off) as another salesman wanted (needed) Thursday off and we switched.... &
in came Karen. I did not sell her a car. I sold her ME ! 28 years later, we still are in love. God works magic - If my fellow salesman didn't need to switch days off with me, Karen & I woulda never ever met. By the way, my wedding gift to Karen was a new Dodge 400 L/S Formal Coupe in "Mahogany Brown", 1982 (I think). SOooo that was our day.

Congrats to the both of you. Sounds like you are doing it right. :D

My wife and I share the same anniversary as the two of you, but ours was our 1st. I will be a happy man when I'm celebrating my 28th with my bride.

Oh My Gosh! Two Others of you have the same date !! All the best to you 4 haappy people.

I have known many a car salesman who have met their (future) wife on the showroom floor, as well. We were forced to work so many hours on the "floor" - - we were way too tired to go out to clubs, bars, etc, etd.
It is far from "unusual" in that business.

A car selling friend (to this day) quit selling Lincoln / Mercury 'cause he said no hot girls ever come in & he switched to Mitsubishi dealership and had many dates and (it took a while) but he finally found Miss Right and they are now married 17 years.

Congrats Sandy!

My wife and I had ours on the 7th.
I wish blue jeans, old cars, and boots would go out of style.

All of the members of my family have gone to their final resting place, as well my wife's family too. We have no relatives. Karen had a brother, but miles apart kept them only touching base at holidays. My family were on in years and are long gone. Her brother is long gone.
We then, really only have one and other. Sure we have faults, she can be very lazy, at times, and she says I spend too much money. We are both correct about the other. But, when you know, that you have nobody else in the entire universe, it changes things. Sure, you can get annoyed at ther other mate, but, deep down you know, that the other person is the only person in the world, that sincerely cares about YOU, and would call the police if one of you go missing. That knowledge really gets us over the "bumps in the road" of a marriage.

Next April will be 30 for us.

Good thing we have each other. Not sure anyone else would tolerate either of us.

Congratulations!!

We are in Grandapids, Mi, after being here, Washington, Rochester, Holly, Grand Blanc. Did not get near Ann Arbor. Headed back to Florida this weekend.
