Grundy no longer doing Collector Car Only insurance.

No Grundy for me I guess. They don't do Collector Car insurance anymore except in SC or MA. They only do it under comprehensive coverage of all your vehicles.

Grundy told me to call "Classic Underwriters".

$140 for 1 year.

$15k agreed value. $100k liability per accident/per person.

New company. Only in some states.

I have 2 collector cars insured by J.C.Taylor. They were recommended by my regular insurance agent (Erie). I've only had them a couple of years now and haven't had any claims, so I don't know too much about them or what states they underwrite. But the rates seem OK Here's some info:

Cool, Classic Underwriters is operating in TX. So for those of us who have Grundy now, I assume we're good until our current policies expire?

Unless you got it through some Philadephia company or something. Those policies are defunct apparently.

This all switched in October I guess.

dOESN'T gruindy HAVE TO CONTINUE TO COVER US UNTIL OUR POLICY'S END?!!? mINE IS OVER IN oCTOBER... 10 MONTHS FROM NOW,

Current policies should be no problem.

Yes, they can't take your money and cancel you. They might even allow old policies to continue forever for all I know.

Once the underwriter has agreed to your policy there is no reason for them to cancel it.

I am assuming NEW policies won't pass their underwriters now, so they only offer full coverage on ALL vehicles.

I finally went with Hagerty. They get good reviews (although I know one person here had a really bad experience with them). I was a little shy of the brand new company covering me adequately.

I hope Grundy keeps my policy. I had one claim, they were great to work with no hassle at all. Reasonable on rate too!

The switch-over from Grundy to the company formerly associated with it, Philadelphia whatever-it's-called, was a pain, since I was adding and removing cars over the past couple of months. It ultimately worked out, and my policy remains in force.

Called Philadelphia underwriters and the new claims number is 1-888-765-9749. They said everything would be the same. Office number 1-888-647-8639

I had put ALL my vehicles into Grundy to get a quote. You can do this if you have 3 or more vehicles.

They refused me because I don't have a minimum $75k worth of vehicles to insure.

Dayum.

(I have a 2002 4Runner, 2003 Odyssey and my asc...I had $45k down for them).
