Alpine 7272

Post by fascat »

Does anyone have the wiring and installation instructions for the Alpine 7272? I'm looking to put one in my car. Although, I think I am missing the trim plate as well as the mounting cage. Anyone know where I might be able to locate those? I'm willing to buy a complete and functional unit. I appreciate any assistance.

The best thing is to go to ebay and look for old alpines. Often there are pieces/parts with some of the old units people have pulled out of cars.

There are some generic install kits you can buy.

FWIW, I think there is no "cage". You just mount it in the opening and secure it with the face/trim plate and a metal strap for the back.

I don't have the 7272 and all I have on my asc coupe site is the brochure which shows available hookups but not the wire colors/etc.

Thanks Mike. I have been checking out Ebay for older Alpines but haven't seen anything yet. I will keep looking though. Thanks for the tip on the cage. I was thinking it mounted like the newer radios with the cage. I have pictures of a new 7272 and it appears to be a cage on it. It is hard to tell from the pictures though. It was on Ebay in May. Of course I didn't have my car then and wasn't looking for one then.

You have a great site with a lot of information. Thanks for sharing all that. I appreciate it.
