The paperwork that followed the car through at ascMcLaren had on it the car's VIN. Next to the VIN, was the procession of completion number, written in. Yes, I own themaster listing. It's some 68 pages.
It tells what option asc installed, colors of body/roof/interior and VIN from FoMoCo and Seq. # of build.

I am not pulling this stuff outta thin air " per Sandy.
Thanks Kevin! I did a lot of digging but must have missed this.

In 1988 & 1990 ascMcLaren did NOT start over, (NUMBERING THE DASH PLAQUES) since 1987 & 1988 were considered "SERIES I" and 1989 & 1990 were considered "SERIES II"

Therefore, here are your numbers:-

001-479 = 1987
480-1,494 = 1988
001-247 = 1989
248-301 = 1990
1900-1911 = 12 Silver Anniversary Edition 1990s
My '88 dash plate reads 041 ...if I read the above correctly, that isn't supposed to be?
