Thanks. I enjoy the compliment.

Don't sweat the cost. Please. Its $17 PER YEAR.

I wouldn't know what to do with the extra $$ anyways. They have things setup so that everything pretty much runs itself and all I have to do is copy a few files when an update happens like every other month or so.

Besides, I already got a nifty ascMcLaren clock out of it from Sandy.

The BEST contributions are PICTURES, and SCANS of documentation, etc etc etc. I like to see that stuff more than $$.

Wow, $17 a year. I guess that I won't keep feeling guilty about getting so much from the site while contributing so little.

Yep, I couldn't believe how cheap web hosting had gotten either when I started.

This site may someday get broken off into its very own site. In that case I would get a plan and bump up the space. It still won't be more than $25/year for the hosting and $8/year for a new domain name.

Big whoop.

I have like 10 other domain names and spend $80/yr just keeping them registered with no hosting.

You have piqued my curiosity. What are the other domain names that you own?

ASCMCLAREN-COUPE.COM 4/18/2006
ASCMCLARENCOUPE.COM 4/8/2006
FANZILLA.COM 10/12/2006
MERCURY-CAPRI.COM 4/18/2006
MICHAELNEGUS.COM 7/9/2006
MIKENEGUS.COM 7/9/2006
UPPER-ECHELON.COM 3/17/2006
UPPERECHELON.COM

8 total. I slimmed them down recently....so not quite 10.

MICHAELNEGUS.COM has a little story....I waited 3 years for the guy in the UK who owned it to let it lapse. I registered it the day or day after it went on the market and 6 months later got an email from him. He was nice but I think he was hoping he could get it back. He claims he was out of work at the time and let it lapse. He wasn't using it and for the 3 years I was waiting to get it, it was parked, with no web page. I had plans for it...but it too is still parked...except I don't plan on letting it lapse.

Heheh.

These forums have put me at #3 on google if you type "ascmclaren"...

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ascmclaren

and #12 if you type in "asc mclaren".

Somehow I have to bump that Martinelli guy and that Hank Somebody-or-other to get top billing. :D

That's good stuff. Who does your webhosting? And how did you register the domain names?

Yeah I know. I added that to the footer of every page on my site a while ago :D I used to be 4 or 5 pages from the top when I didn't have it.
