Do you think this thing really went for this and the transaction went through? Man, if only I'd waited to buy. This is my FAVORITE color for the stangs, and this one was cherry.

I checked this car out, on all of my ascMcLaren paperwork. This is a stand-up car ! Everything checks out A-OK. Only (of course) the dash plaque number is wrong..... but we all know about that, ESPECIALLY on 80% of the 1988s. It shoulda been 1440 and seller says it's 1559 or something like that.
I think that it would have gone higher had it been a bright color and an automatic tranny. Selling on e-bay is NOT where you wanna be, if you are selling. IMO, the car is worth $17,500.

ebay is great for visibility and eyeball traffic but if you close the deal on ebay, you're probably not getting the most from your car.

Well, actually they made what dealers ordered. No car was built, that was not going to some waiting dealer. (Except for late in the 1989 model run, when there was a 1990 model delay due to the installation of the air bag, and to cover that time frame - yes, ascMcLaren made around 25 unsold-to-a-dealer "stock" of cars, ready to be shipped off, if a tele call came in, for one.

Okay, 27.8% (282) 1988s were ordered 5-Speed Manual
while 72.2% (733) 1988s were ordered the 4-Speed Automatic.

19.8% (201) were ordered with the Whistler Spectrum Radar Detector
08.2% (083) with Recaro Seats.
932 units (91.8%) had the standard "Sport Seats" ....

1988 Colors:-

263 Keweenau White
254 ascMcLaren Red
185 Jet Black
111 Sterling Silver Metallic
062 Atlantic Blue Metallic (Dark)
062 Azura Blue Pearl (tie) (Bright)
027 Black Cherry Metallic (Dark)
023 HOT Yellow
015 Medium Regatta Blue Metallic
012 Gunmetal Grey Metallic (Medium-Dark)
001 Regal Red-Fox Metallic (Medium)

Tops:-
Atlantic Blue = 301
Black = 580
Claret-Wine = 38
Tan = 96
Totals 1,015

About 31 cars were 5-speed with Sterling Silver Paint.
