Post by U-MAN »

HI!... Just got my 5.0 mag in the mail. Started lookin' at it and low and behold, there we are. On the full page add for " FORD CARLISLE NATS.",There is a picture of a red capri 'vert as part of the add. So girls and boys, bit by bit we are getting known out there. One for our team!

I didn't see it but that is neat they put a Capri Vert in the ad. Especially with this being Mustang's 50th. I wonder if it is CocoLoco's car as he was there last year.

OK. I couldn't wait. Just ran out to the local store. They had one copy left. Yep - that's mine. I took my yellow Mustang and the McLaren last year. On Sunday, I moved the McLaren from up on the hill to down next to the Yellow Mustang Rergistry and parked beside my other car.

There was an offical Carlisle photographer floating around the yellows. We got to talking and I explained our cars to him. He took a bunch of super hi res shots. This is one on them.

I have been going to car shows with my 3 cars since 2007. This is the first time one has been in print. I'm glad it was the Mclaren. Very proud to represent !!!!!

You're right. I even had trouble finding a copy (or two or three). I finally found a bunch at WalMart. I bought 4 copies. Figure I'll cut one up to put in my car book, one to show all my friends (bragging rights on this one!) and a archive copies. The other thing is it's the June issue so may just be hitting the shelves. Carlisle runs ads in a lot of mags so I am keeping an eye out for other ones as well.

Thanks for the heads up on this and all the support. I've had the McLaren about 2-1/2 years now and love taking it to shows and talking about it. People seem to know nothing or are amazed to see one. One thing is for sure - we have an under appreciated rare car. I'll do my part to spread the word !!!

OK - I need to confess something. Don't ask how, but I have the original JPEG of the picture. Really hi res.

I tried to contact Carlisle but got no response. I like your idea of contacting the mag. I'll try that Monday. Thanks.

I got several copies of this ad. It's not really an article, just a pic of my McLaren in their ad. I scanned it in and can send you (and anybody else) a copy. Just PM me with your email.
