Your mileage on that '84 is still more than decent. (Like 350 @
yr.). The only guide that I could give you would be that she'd be
worth $15,000 if it was as it was the day it drove off the selling
dealer's lot, for the first time, WITH the present mileage! However,
from the $15,000 you must subtract the ACTUAL cost of each thing that
is wrong with it. "Slight Tear" could result in a total matching
leather by hand recover. "Slight Weld" could result in the entire
removal of the roof to get to it. "Needs Tires" ? As a seller,
you'd be happy to put on Sears "S" speed rated "on sale" Radials.
Our buyer wants the ORIGINAL B.F. Goodrich Comp T/A(s) P225x60/15 "V"
rated....See ? Most buyers of special interest cars, are NOT as
concerned with mileage, as sellers tend to think. Buyers want a near
perfect - to perfect car. When they bring it home, they don't want
Joe next door to say, "You paid WHAT for this? ~ It's got a tear
here and a tear there, and that doesn't even work??? (and) HEY, how
about THAT, 'ya that over there, Man.....you got scr_ _ ed!! (Bubble
Bursts).
The MORE you fix (properly) the high price you can command, the
easier time you will have selling her. Buyers, always want it for
less! "A bargin" is never defined, it's abstract. The less they
prospective buyer has to point out that's bad, the more money you'll
get.
It's a very desirable car, as it's the original year, and # 10 of the
first 50 made.
Take it to the beauty parlor, and have it done right, fix what's not
right. Remember to subtract every fix's cost from $15,000. As she
is now, I'd venture a guess around $12,000, tops. All things being
equal (as much as possible) the 1990s and 1989s are bringing the
most, followed by the 1984s. The 1986s are bringing MORE than the
1985s, followed by the 1987s and lastly the 1988s.

By the way, I just paid $18,500.00 for a 1990 with 6,841 miles, in
brand new condition, without flaw #1. They are beginning to climb in
value, slowly, but they have ceased to drop any more.
