I am not familiar with what you describe. Every car I have seen
seemed to be the same in that general area that you describe.

1987 & EARLY 1988s had one style console with exposed lighter, while
later 1988s, 1989s & 1990s had the other style console with the
lighter INSIDE the ashtray. Mercury Capri versions of 84, 85 & 86
(Convertibles) had custom made center consoles...
