Subject: 1987-1990 Mustang asc/McLaren Dash Plaques

I have finally made sence (?) out of the installation of the 1987-
1990 asc/McLaren Dash Plaques that read, "LIMITED EDITION" with a
number stamped into the blank area that follows. Here you are, and
print and save this - but ask me no questions, as I have no answers.
I can tell you that asc/McLaren did NOT start over in 1988 and 1990,
since 1987 & 1988 were considered by asc/McLaren to be "SERIES I" and
1989 & 1990 to be "SERIES II". Why what happened toward the end of
the 1990s happened, is unclear at this point it time.

1987: LIMITED EDITION # 001 thru 479
1988: LIMITED EDITION # 480 thru 1,494
1989: LIMITED EDITION # 001 thru 247
1990: LIMITED EDITION # 248 thru 301
1990: LIMITED EDITION # 1,901 thru 1,911
The final 11 units for 1990 were 1,901 thru 1,911. There was no
number 1,900. It went from 301 to 1,901 and then continued up thru
1,911.

To further muddy the waters, IF you wrote to them and told them that
yours fell off or was stolen or whatever, and you requested a
replacement part, THEN you got one in the sixteen-hundred series,
such as 1,600, 1,601, 1,602 ... whatever.

Enough to drive you nuts!! If I EVER find out more,I'll post it!
