From what I understand, the power to the foglights goes through the
same wiring for the headlights (including the headlight switch). 
The stock ford wiring cannot handle this extra current, and many
people have complained about their fog lights going to pot.  The
wires will actually heat right up and become brittle over time.

If I were you, once I got them to work, I would never use them again.
