In '84 the 5.0 Liter HO 4V (carbed) engine was "standard & only available
with the Capri RS"
The 5.0 Liter HO engine with Electronic Fuel Injection was new for '84 and
was "optional with Capri GS and Capri RS"
(quotes are from my 1984 Mercury Salesman Source Book)
