You could also show them the body buck tag on the upper radiator support.

There is the factory Mercury one and right next to it is the asc/McLaren one.

The one on my car is stamped "McLaren Coupe" and it is made out of the same aluminum material as the Mercury tag.

They are very difficult to reproduce so that should prove to them that it is a real asc/McLaren Coupe.

have a unique little problem...

i live on ohio, in one of the areas, where they checks cars for emissions

cannot get the car through emissions...

 

out is to get collector plates here, should not be a problem...

car is listed in the NADA collector price guide....

 

went to the agency....

it was interesting....

it is not listed under Mercury Capri

wasn't listed under Mustang....

it is listed under Mclaren Mercury Capri....

so far good....

bad news, the VIN comes up just saying its a Capri....

 

person i talked to, said if i took pictures of the steering wheel and plaque on the dash i should be ok....

 

is there any documentation from Ford or ASC/Mclaren that I can get that state this car is a Mclaren Mercury Capri...

a word of warning, they will not accept anything off the internet.....
