Subject: TV Cable

I just wanted to say thanks to John for some really good advice re:
the TV Cable of my car. I took it to the AAMCO down the street in
Providence, RI (Silver Spring Street) - a shop recommended by my long
trusted mechanic. The guy at AAMCO said the bushing on the cable
could have given at any time because the cable was in fact too tight.
This indeed could cause transmission failure. The guy replaced the
bushing and adjusted the cable at NO charge. Its good to see there
are still some good people out there. I gave him some cash for his
trouble and the promise of some referred business.

It appears it was fairly straight forward repair, but I felt
compelled to have a professional take care of it to make sure it was
done right - no sense in burning the tranny out having the problem
diagnosed already. Here's a website I came across re: this problem.
It seems it is fairly common w/ Ford AOD transmissions.

Thanks again John - this could have put my car out of commission for
quite a while. She runs really smooth now w/ lots of power still
(relatively speaking) :)
