I hear ya, My car had some JCW POS on it which didn't handle any
abuse at all.

Here is a pic of my old bumper cover. You can almost see the two
sets of holes. One where the original air dam was and where they
tact on the crappy one.

Anyhow, I think that's the way the coevr is supposed to be cut.
Maybe its more like 4" at the top now that I look at the picture.
