not exactly sure of the year, but all cars produced after a certain year(early 80's) have some degree of a factory tint. this is a loop hole in all tint laws. here were allowed 50% which is hardly more than clear plastic on the windows. however, if you put this legal tint on your post 80's car the tint is slightly darker that the legal 50%. hence making it illegal. i think tint laws are an invasion of privacy... why should the law be about tint... have the law state that you must roll your window down if pulled over... if the cop isn't comfortable walking up then pull out his gun. if i guy is gonna shoot a cop he probably isn't gonna pull over in the first place. it all a control issue. when i get pulled over i always roll the window down and put at least on hand out the window. its real hard to go for a gun under the seat or in the glove box with on arm out the window....cops seem to appreciate this. also, here your only allowed a 4"strip on the windshield, this is another defunct law. the law must state a percentage of the windshield, because we have all seen them old chop top hot rods, say a 32 ford with a 4- 6" windshield, with this law, they could tint the intire windshield....they really dont thing these stupid laws out when it comes to custom cars.... you can almost alwasy beat it in court.... jdawg
