This little car actually did begin life as a 2-door notchback coupe. It's more like an ascMcLaren than different. "four-speed" who I have been speaking with in PM(s) may shed more light on this. I hope he/she does. Now, yes the tonneau (HARD) cover is nearly identical to our ascMcLarens, and yes it has chrome snaps around that tonneau cover. The bottom part of the roof snaps on there for a taut fit. It's kinda like installed on the OUTSIDE whereas our ascMcLarens are installed on the underside of the 1/4 panels. How the roof goes down and what recepticle it goes into are the parts that I don't know. But I think that hard tonneau somehow opens up to store the top. I saw in pictures a key hole lock, too, on the forward scetion, that looked like it could be for storage. Confusing. I hope 4-speed will post pictures for us to see.
