Hey guys
I've done quite a bit of research looking up interior resto
parts/methods for my 85 vert (black/beige), but in some cases my
research has muddied the waters a bit. I'm looking to keep the
interior looking stock and I'm hoping the folks here can shed some
light on my questions.
1. Carpeting - There are a million and one places to buy carpet
(almost all for around +/- $100) has anyone had good/bad luck w/ 50
resto? Also, I have seen the colors Sandlewood and Sand Beige listed
in various catalogs/websites, but which is the correct color for my
85?
2. Dash & Trim paint/dye - My car has experienced quite a bit of
fading and sun damage, so I'm going to repaint/dye (as appropriate)
the interior of the dash and trim throughout. I've found a couple of
places online that sell paint/dye (50 resto & metroparts), but I was
hoping someone might have found another supplier (metroparts seems
expensive).
3. Seats - Anyone try reconditioning and dyeing their leather seats?
If so, where did you purchase the dye? Seems to me that although
quite a bit of work, that dyeing might be the way to go vs.
recovering (at $600 a pop through Hank). My seats are in reasonably
good shape w/ no tears and a little cracking, but otherwise basically
need a cosmetic upgrade.
Once it warms up a bit here in RI, I'm going to tear the interior
apart. Hopefully, the buildsheet is under the carpeting!
Thanks in advance for your help!
