So....you have:
Charcoal Trim
Black Keyholes
Black Mirrors
Black Grill
Black PW Bezels and Switches
Black Exterior Door Handles
Charcoal Interior Door Handles/Cups
OK, the mirrors boggle my mind. When I went hunting for NOS mirrors
(which are on my car and have NOT been painted) all the part numbers
were for grey housings. Even the replacent 85-86 Passenger side
Mustang door that replaced the my RH door after the accident had a
grey mirror and was unpainted. The grill is a trip too. Mine was
grey as far as we could tell it was painted once...by the factory.
The true color of the plastic was neither black nor charcoal but a
nluish material. Black here...Grey here...What the heck was Ford
doing?
The Charcoal Interior Door Handles and Cups you have are crazy too.
Anyone else have them? I THINK I have seen the charcoal handles
before....but just thought they were faded.
Next time you go visit you museum piece, please please please take
your digital camera and get a few picks of your car.
Well, right now I think I'm going to leave things as is except for
the locks which I will either paint black or install my black topped
NOS set. The door handles will match the locks. All the other
stuff is painted charcoal grey for now. I will probably take the
shine off with some steel wool or something.
If anything is wrong I blame Mike Martinelli as I used pics of his
car for my paint guy to go by.
