Re: [ASC McLaren ] Coupe Brakes

The SVO / Lincoln Mark VII brake system is comprised of
a master cylinder with a 1.25" bore, 11" vented front disc
brakes, and 11.35" vented rear disc brakes.

The problem with the rear brake setup is that the axles are
1.25" longer (per side) than the stock Mustang axles, so wheels
with a custom offset will be required.  That, or live with the wheels
sticking out of the wheelwells.

Subject: [ASC McLaren ] Coupe Brakes

I just replaced the brake master cylinder in my '85
Coupe with the a Mustang/Capri V-8 MC. While it fit
perfectly, I noticed that the one I took out was very
light. In fact, it's aluminum, as opposed to the cast
iron replacement.

My limited research shows that the Mustang SVO came
with an aluminum MC. Is this original? Does anyone
have a source for full brake specs on Mustang SVO's?
Now I'm wondering if the mysterious brake upgrade
we've heard about was the SVO system in part or whole.
