Got rain water in my door!!

Post by Havoc »

Drove her to work this past week and it rained. After looking the door over it looks like the window seal or felt is old and beat up. I found these on the fox restoration website would this fit on my Vert? I know I'm due to change the seals around the top but I'm hopinf if I replace these It will keep the door filling up with water.

IF IF IF the mustang 2-Door sedan (Post Sedan) door is the same size as the the Mustang convertible doors, then yes.

Those appear to be for the 1/4 windows NOT the doors . The doors outer rubber which are often dry rotted/cracked are called DEW WIPES and Fox mustang does sell them and they cost like $89

Yep dew wipes are what you need for a standard mustang from what I know. The White 86 ASC coupe I picked up came filled with water that sloshed around when I moved the door. Be cautious with the old ones as you may want to re-use part of them.

Have a lot of fun!

Make sure to clean out the weep holes on the bottom of the doors.

Yea I see Fox Sells a Kit for the doors and convertible. Wouldn't hurt to just start replacing all of that as My top leaks as well. I want to replace the carpet at some point so I better knock all of this out first.

Thanks for the help Guys.

If you have a convertible, just wait until you try to replace the weatherstripping that goes around the windshield frame and seals the top. I'm not sure who designed it, but I do believe there is an amusement park in Florida dedicated to him.
