Sadly Cadillac killed the XLR in the spring of 2009.

However they still have some brand new 2009's for sale!
oh, didn't know that. Still, thats an awesome car, I reluctantly have to say......
A Corvette in Caddy clothing; I always thought that was awesome too.

I have never understood why Mercedes has always been able to generate enough volume to mainatin production of the SL series and both M-B and BMW can move 2-door luxury coupes, but Caddy can't keep a 2-seat vert in it's line up to save it's life and neither Caddy or Lincoln offer coupes anymore (although I understand Caddy is bringing a 2 door C series to market soon).
I agree. I mentioned this to a Ford dealer I know years ago. "Why the hell doesn't Lincoln produce a coupe to compete with the MB & BMWs out there?" answer: "THere isn't a market for it".........

BS. I see a ton of MB, BMW sport coupes out there every day! and I used to have a 330ci!!!

And along the same line of thinking.....

I was annoyed at Ford for years for not marketing a car to compete with the corvette and viper. FINALLY after way too many years they come out with the GT(40)! Great! It was about time. (Although it was overpriced.) THey make it for a few years, then poof, its gone. WHyyyyyy? If dodge can produce the viper continuously since '94........... why the hell can't YOU, Ford, continue to make the GT? or the Cobra?, or come up with something new in this category?!?!?!?!

I was with Dodge division for many years.
The Viper barely breaks even, but CryCo keeps propping it up and keeps it new with yearly exciting paint colors, that (in many cases) hwve never been seen on a car, before. The VOC (Viper Owners Club) is THE power behind the sales of the car. You never see a TV ad nor a magazine print ad, either. Similiar to the NCPC with Corvette, the Viper club KEEPS owners in the fold, while enticing a few new buyers each year.
Unlike Corvette, Vipers are usually NOT sold at most Dodge dealers, just at most, a few in each state. Dodge has managed to keep the car "new" by changing it just slightly every couple of years and in-between are those "Holy-God" colors. A buyer who buys a Viper, new, from a Dodge Dealer is pretty much given the Key to the ranch, so to say.
CryCo is not bothered by Corvettes higher sales numbers. They want the Viper to W-O-W folks on the street. If there are too many out there, the Viper loses it's exclusivity, and Mother Mopar knows that!
The interiors make 'Vettes look like a Taxi. Vipers have Shirred Wool, Supple buttery soft Leather, some trimmed in Velour & Velvet, leather DOOR PANELS, and all kind of other choices.
CryCo probably loses $$$ on them, but the Viper owner has never prior experienced the Godly treatment in the dealership, no matter WHAT car he has owned prior, so.... that is where he buys the wife the Caravan and the oldest son a car as well.
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.
