Curtis, like you, I have the 2 remotes. Over the winter, the car was
in storage. I went to check it out yesterday, and my remote would
not open the doors, had to use the key. Later, I returned with my
OTHER set of keys, and they worked it perfectly. I then tried again
the first set and they still didn;t work!! I feel pretty sure that
it's probably a dead battery, so I went & replaced it with a correct
battery, Duracell #21. Put the battery in the correct way, and NO
GO. It still will not work. So, now I assume that it lost it's
memory or jumped code. I do not think it's the receiving unit,
because I'd guess if it were the OTHER remote would also NOT work. I
have no clue how to fix this. I have a very good & honest dealer I
take it to (actually a Lincoln~Mercury store)-but they are not too
familiar with these cars.
My question......Do you know where exactly the receiver is located in
these cars? I really don't want them to go on a witch hunt trying to
find it, I'd much rather be able to point it out to them.
Any help, ideas or suggestions much appreciated.
