I put one in my 93 'regular' Mustang convertible, not an
ASC/McLaren. It was a chrome 'Hooker' roll bar (Yes, the same
company that makes headers). It bolted in with ease, and looked damn
good if I may say so. What you do is center it left to right, push
it all the way to the back edge of the seat mount on the floor, drill
8 holes on the floor, 4 on each side, be careful of fuel lines on
passenger side. Once that bottom base is mounted you remove your
quarter covers, and attach two back posts to the support for the
convertible, 4 bolts 2 on each side. The hardest part is cutting out
the template so that the back two bars fit seamlessly through your
rear quarter covers. There is another type that just goes through
the upper and lower rear seat instead of trhough the quarter covers,
but that is not made by Hooker, and I am not sure if it is available
in chrome, or just black.

A friend of mine got T-boned on his side by a big Dodge Ram truck in
his 89 convertible, and between the roll bar and sub frame
connecters, it stopped that car from flexing just enough to save his
life. The grill of the truck ended up hitting the roll bar and
instead of crushing through the car, it pushed the car instead.
Don't get me wrong, the car was totalled, but at least he walked
away!
