Yes, I thought long & hard before doing that - but like many others,
I liked the orange ascMcLaren hood buldge decal. I decided to go for
it as it's not something "permanent" ~ 30 minutes, a good hand held
hair dryer and a dull well worn single edge razor blade, and it's off
with no damage and the car would be like it was never there in the
1st place.

No, there are many subtle little differences between the 25 1984s and
the 150 1985s. 1984 & 1985 seat fabric was different, the
aforementioned dash decal on the '84 and several 1984s had a
different installation of the radar unit, which was actually built
into the glove box, with its face plate poking out of a cut-out in
the front of the glove box door, many had actual NASA type indented
hood scoops where our louvers are (tho not all 25 had it) and they
had webbing in the upside down "U" shaped headrests as did the normal
Capri of that year. Door panel power window buttons were chrome as
were interior door handles & face plates. Lots of little stuff.
Actually the 85s were closer to the 86s !! Short of the EFI
replacing the Carb and add'l. body colors the 85 & 86 coupes were
almost right on the same.
