One thing nobody has ever questioned. The Dark Blue Metallic used on the 1984/1985 & 1986 Coupes. Well, Dark Blue was only available on the base model GS, not on the RS, so what gives? The Oxford White, Raven Black, Smoke Charcoal Gray and Platinum Silver were all available on both series, BUT the dark blue (there were 3 different shades, a different one each year), was only on the GS. The answer is all dark blue cars were built under a 999-code also, for "Special Order Paint" application. Anyone with a sales brochure, look in the back, at the color listing to verify this!
