Just a side note here. The roller lifter blocks are different due to the
taller lifter bores it's true but... People make them work just fine in
older blocks all the time. Most lateral force on a lifter is at the base.
(in a roller there's not much even there)

Oh and with the B303 and ported heads you could be well on your way to
225HP. I'm sure the carb was adjusted too! The exhaust port of stock ford
heads is terrible! Literally choking the flow characteristics. Even the
coveted E7TE's of the later years had this same problem. My 85 coupe smoked
em' through second with just ported E7's flowmasters and a performer
