I personally don't agree with that at all. You have a fairly
anonymous ID on Ebay, and you can always make up a new one if you
want to bid on some of the shady items. But as a buyer I WELCOME an
email from somebody telling me to "watch out, there is something
shaky going on" or "hey, I have that likewise item in better
condition for less".
Private auctions only help the seller keep his bidders in the dark.
