Reproduction engine harness...hmmmm...I got the tip that a place who
makes up 50's and 60's harnesses made some for the Carbed 85 GTs and
a few for 1984 since the differences were minimal.
Now I can't find the post...their server crashed and I bet it went
with it. I'd need to look in my receipts and see what I can find.
It was about $225 if I remember correctly. But its a top notch piece
and WAY better than original. The only difference between his and
Ford's is that his wires have the stripes actually embedded in the
insulation and not silkscreened on. And as such he doesn't have any
of the weird stripping or dots like the Ford one. I have not used
mine yet but from the original poster, it fits and works better than
the el-cheapo Ford wiring and looks as stock as you can get.
About the duplicate parts, I have two NOS '88 gas caps...which are
not EXACTLY like the 85 but REALLY close...and two headlight
switches, turn signal/wiper and HVAC units. These tend to wear off
their markings over time. Other than that I have had to keep
something of a "budget".
I have more pics of stuff to put on the web site but need to find
time.
