Re: [ASC McLaren ] Re: 85 Coupe Questions

Oh one other thing. The 85's came with the 7.5" gear. The 86's came with
the much stronger 8.8"

If anyone with an 84 or 85 ASC feels a little shimmy or shake at the back of
the car get it to a shop to have the rear checked and likely rebuilt. My 85
convertible shook for about a week before locking up at speed! This was not
only scary but it required that everything including on axel needed to be
replaced.

If you are hopping up the motor or plan on drag racing these cars I suggest
getting a rear from a newer mustang to beat on while your original sits in a
nice safe place (indoors and heated is best)

Subject: [ASC McLaren ] Re: 85 Coupe Questions1985's came with 2.73:1. The higher ratio was then a no-charge
option, and became standard in the 1986's. (We're talkin' coupes
here).
