Mike, I don't know. What do you think. Look directly above this
message, to the left slightly and you'll see in BOLD black the
word "Messages" ~ now, look at the size of the area of the "e" in
that word. THAT is the size of the area that I touch up. I do it
about once every 3 years. It's on the "B" pillar cap, the vertical
aluminum piece (asc supplied) that is on the "B" pillar. The very
tip top edge of my door frame very slightly (millimeters here)
touches the very top of that vertical aluminum cover bar when
opening/closing the door. It wears of the paint in an area the size
of that "e" in the above word "Messages" ~ I have a brand new, never
opened, pint of 33717. I think it was pretty expensive, at $37.50.
I apply it using a paper (torn from book) match (bottom of match)
using like a single small dab, and then feathering it out to cover
the small area. It dries pretty fast and is barely noticeable.
I had to buy a new battery a few weeks ago for the car. The OEM
battery has been discontinued. The replacement battery just fits in
the battery trey but a hair ! It's a bit bigger (stronger) battery
than the OEM. It is (of course) a Ford battery $82.50.
It was a funny scene. I actually drove her the 2 miles to the dealer
& parked her in the Customer Parking in front of the showroom. I
left the car & went into the service Dept. to locate the Parts Dept.
As I glanced back at her, the showroom had emptied and there were 7
guys standing around her looking & pointing and talking. The front
lot was very visiable from where I stood at parts counter. Others
came out to look, I think from the front office. Soon there were 9
people standing 'round my Mac. Then, the snack-wagon pulled in and
as if my car turned to a ticking bomb, all 9 immediatley forgot my
car existed, and went like magnets to the snack-wagon! It was funny
to watch. Nice car, WOW what IS it? Yada, Yada, Yada, HEY - SNACK
WAGON ... GOODBYE CAR
