Again, the door tag DSO is different than the internal DSO code.
The door tag DSO is for the District Sales office. This 2 digit
code merely shows what district the car is/was intended for. For
cars that were special orders there is an additional 4 digits that
are undecipherible without internal paperwork.
D32 is a code Ford used internally at the plant to identify a
McLaren build.
IF everybody would offer up their door tag info we could try to
narrow down what codes are common for these cars and use those also
as identifiers. For instance, maybe all McLaren Capri coupes had
the same DSO or maybe they all used the same spring codes which is
coded with the transmission on the tag or maybe they all have the
same Accesory Reserve Load codes that is printed above the DSO on
the door tag. This could be done for the Coupes, Capri verts and
the Mustangs also. There is nothing except the VIN on this tag to
identify the car so a picture or two of the tag, with only the last
6 digits of the vin blocked out if you so choose, would be great.
