it real simple to test the switch. pull it out, on the back there
are 3 wires--1 hot lead, and 2 others one wire releases the top and
the other operates the pull down motor.just pull off the outside
wires one at a time and touch them to the center wire. again one
should pop the release, and the other will pull down the top. if
the pull down wont work this way then you know its the motor, if it
does work then its the switch. one has nothing to do with the
other, the release mechanism is in the tonnou and the pull down
motor is in the trunk. also note that these 2 items run off a self
grounding system(no wire), so you might also check to make sure
there is no build up on the contact points.
